Production of....? I can't find any Google hits on this in English and am at a total loss.

Optical lenses would be called「レンズ」. So, I guess 「丸王」means "rims" as it contained「丸」. In fact, some spectacles may have had only rims in those days and the rims were all around-shaped. It's quite likely that the skills required to make those rims were applicable to めのう細工.
The person seems to have started off as an apprentice and climbed the ranks as a servant to be eventually allowed to own his own shop. 奉公 refers to serving the employer in the then-prevailing employment system.
