Italian term
accesso extra IP
Italian to English
Tech/Engineering
Computers: Systems, Networks
open source technology
Instructions on a website for remote access, without using the IP address of the company holding the subscription. Another phrase is: 'sono stati abilitati gli utenti al di fuori del controllo IP della vostra rete aziendale'. I'm wondering if 'remote access' would be sufficient here or if there is a more specific term.
Thanks for any help.

access to an extra IP address
It would help if you would give the full Italian text. Anyway an extra IP address is always a useful thing for people to have. You can redirect from one site to another and create things like virtual internet protocol services. However, IPs are just internet protocol addresses, they don't control anything.

OK "Access from outside the IP address space"
OK I think I see what is happening. This is an intranet and by "within the control of the IP", they must mean inside the intranet and "within the IP address space"

What they mean is that people can get into the company intranet, which is a private network (not on the internet) from outside that network which means from the internet at home or while travelling (probably using a VPN - virtual private network)

As for the "licence" this is just like a software user licence from a vendor.

Note from asker:
I am not sure that your answer fits. As you describe it, it just seems to me that you mean extra as in 'in addition' I can't give more context because these are very small snippets on a site, but as I explained, we are referring to users who can access a site for which their company has a licence, without using the company IP address. Extra in this case means outside |
