English term
Liquidity
English to Chinese
Bus/Financial
Finance (general)
What has transpired since has been quite the opposite. Central banks have continued to embark on unprecedented monetary policy easing. Not only have we seen official cash rates dropped to zero in many of the developed world economies, we have seen significant rounds of quantitative easing by the U.S, the UK, Europe and Japan. This has served to pump enormous amounts of liquidity (effectively cash) into the markets with the aim of providing their respective economies with on-going stimulus to promote economic growth.

: On second thought, I think I agree with you. Asset in accounting sense should be something that generates income for an organisation in the future and thus does not apply in this context.

Discussion
Investment markets have performed strongly as a result of this liquidity stimulus and investor demand.
In 2008 the global financial crisis (GFC) threw financial markets into turmoil. Billions of dollars were wiped off global stock markets. Economies slowed abruptly. Unemployment in most countries rose. House prices in many of the world’s leading economies fell. As a result, banks came under pressure as borrowers struggled to meet their obligations. Governments and central banks were quick to act, shoring up the banking system, cutting interest rates aggressively and providing much needed liquidity.
