Es sieht so aus, als ob dein Quelltext sich auf Segeltraining vor einer Regatta bezieht. Diese 'Trimmschläge', bei denen es darum geht, den Trimm des Bootes und der Segel für die Regatta zu perfektionieren, werden im Englischen 'tuning session' oder 'tune-up session' genannt, speziell im Bezug auf Regattas. Das kann in Teams mit zwei oder mehreren Booten oder auch alleine erfolgen (mit Trainer oder Fachmann (z.B. bei neuen Segeln) an Bord).
Oftmals werden auch 'tune-up regattas' oder 'tune-up races' am Tag voher oder kurz vor der eigentlichen Regatta gefahren, um sich mit den anderen Teilnehmern vergleichen und noch einige letzte Änderungen am Trimm vornehmen zu können.
