• Basal must be sprayed on brush and tree trunks in a manner that thoroughly wets the lower stems, including the root collar area. It should be applied all the way around the trunk. However, basal should not be sprayed to the point of runoff.

• Basal applications should not exceed 10 gallons per acre.

• Common base mix for basal is Garlon 4 Ultra 20% with basal or bark oil 80%. A small amount of dye is also added to the mix. Stalker or Tordon K can also be added to the mix to help control a wider array of species. Basal is typically premixed, but it can be mixed like foliar mixes.
