On the other hand, You have a court -- a panel hearing a case -- trial (single juge or a judge plus a jury, appellate (usually a panel of three) etc., with the Председательствующий cудья on the bench.
The source talks about the first. The ChairMEN.
Any idea? ("Courthouse" was the first thing I though of. But then, if you take out "chaired" and insert "run" instead, it might play. What do you say?)
Предложение сляпано на смеси канцелярита и журналюжных штампов с целью сделать красиво и в то же время убедительно, "в стиле чемпиона", "акулы пера", в то время как смысл (для знающих хотя ты структуру судебной системы, не говоря уже о знании реалий) банально прост: председатели большинства судов -- мужчины. Всё.
Другой вопрос, как это перевести. Одна проблема состоит в пресловутой политкорректности с его дурацким chairperson (как и personhole).
Другая --в том, прокатит ли у клиента или редактора ли простой, как мычание, эквивалент: Most courthouses -- on/of all levels -- are chaired by men. Всё. Можно ещё попытаться обыграть компонент "man" в слове "chairman, но у меня вдохновения сегодня нет.
