French term

service de l'offre

French to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion fashion house department
This is a department/office in a retail clothing company. I asked the client to tell me what it means and this was their answer.
I haven't got a clue!

Note from asker:
Hi writeaway, its funny, but the main reason I found this term so difficult to translate is because of the huge scope of responsibilties being borne by the department - the link you posted describes exactly this sort of nightmare job. So thanks!

marketing department

All the activities described here are part of the marketing function. This could be a company that eschews the use of English words, whereas most French companies do use 'Marketing'
Note from asker:
Hi Andrew, I know what you mean, but they do indeed have a marketing department.
Peer comment(s):

agree Jean-Claude Gouin : or 'merchandising department' ... In Canada, we don't use 'service de l'offre'; we use 'marchandisage' in French ...
