This is a pretty old source, but I think still dependable. It defines 状態監視 as 'condition monitoring' under Japan Industrial Standard No. Z8115 (this number - with the same definition- seems to have been updated to 81Z8115 in the slightly more recent Inter Press 機械•設計用語中辞典 and may have been updated again since).
Example sentence:

If so, 'Status' generically refers to the state of each operating variable of the machine (so for a car this would be battery level, fuel level, engine rpm, On/Off state of position- and indicator- lights, etc...; for an MIG welding machine: the wattage level, the shielding gas flow rate, the rate of the welding wire feed, etc...).
Now, even though there may be some degree of overlap between the two terms, 'Condition' is more commonly associated with the detection and signalling of 'whether or not the conditions under which the machine is set to work' (i.e. main's power load, work load, etc...) are within its set ratings/ tolerances, or else 'the causes of some malfunction, whether it has occurred or is imminent' (such as the alert 'beep' of a light aeroplane put up to an excessively steep climb/angle of attack, thus risking a stall).
Any other/different views everyone?
