Joseph I think you might be right with Status Post... if they threw in STEMI and PTCA in English I didn't think that the s/p might also be English :)
Especially considering that SCA is in Italian... yeeesh just pick one language already... Italian doctors! ;)

Hi Roy, thank you... but later it actually continues with the treatment explaining PTCA + DES [Drug Eluding Stent] Implantation... so I don't think s/p stands for stent placement right before the PTCA if the DES Implanation follows.... thank you for your imput though

possible English This could be the English abbreviation of "status post" ... these Italians love to borrow English terminology.

Found online on a nursing web site:

""Status post" (abbreviated s/p, as you note) is just medicalese for "the patient had a (X)" (at some point in the past) -- her/his status is post-(whatever the specified procedure is). "S/p tracheostomy" means that your patient has had a tracheostomy; "s/p L BKA" would mean that the patient has had a left below the knee amputation, etc., etc. "S/p" notations in the diagnosis or admit notes are usually used not to note the person's entire medical history, but to highlight the most recent acute medical problems and chronic conditions (like a tracheostomy, mastectomy, missing organs, etc.) that everyone needs to know about up front because they impact the patient's care/treatment of whatever the current/acute problem is. "
