Sarah: A “stop sell” (sometimes “stop selling”, both terms with or without hyphen) in T&E is basically what it says on the tin - a provider (e.g. hotel, car rental company or other T&E provider) stops selling "products” (cars, hotel rooms) at a particular location for a limited period, either in their entirety or for a particular category. As a rule, “stop sells” apply to e.g. travel agents and other intermediaries and are rolled out because of particularly strong demand, meaning that the hotel or car rental company can obtain direct bookings for all its rooms or vehicles without having to pay a fee to travel agents or other intermediaries, or (more commonly) can charge higher prices to direct customers than they would normally obtain from the quotas offered to travel agents or other intermediaries. Does that make sense?

Stock exchange vs. car rental sales/revenue I didn't suggest that your specific case related to stocks, but this is where the term originally stems from (or is at least widely used). As written in my previous note, your example might be an analogy to the stock exchange context.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure this can relate to stocks as it is aimed at branch managers. But if nobody else has a clue I shall have to leave it as it is and make a note to the customer.

None the wiser In fact, 'stop sell (order)' - or 'sell stop (order)' - is a stock exchange term in 'real' English - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_(exchange)#Stop_orders

That said, this leaves me none the wiser as far as your context is concerned. Are they perhaps trying to define 'meaningful' (i.e. 'revenue-preserving/enhancing') lower price limits/thresholds?

The last line consists of 2 insurance terms that are English, not German and two (BE and BF) that I can't find either but I assume will be understood internally.
