もし言われた解釈(部品点数)が正しいなら、部品が棚の間口列にばらばらに預かっているイメージになるでしょう。そうしたら、それぞれに入っている部品の量を問わず、間口の幅を、出来るだけ同じにするポイントがみえなくなっております。逆に、参考と提供しておいた表内容の比較するイメイジをみて、もし品種が自動的に、給路をへて、組立ての場へ送られている場合は間口や送り給路の幅が品種の幅+alphaに合わせた以上、その格納区の全体が狭くさせることが出き、設備余地を減らす有意義があるでしょう。とは言え,結局、後者のイメージは考えすぎなのかどうか、OneTaさんにお任せします :-).

Elec.component [supply line] width

Looks like the idea of this redesign was to standardise the widths of 2/3rd of the elec. components supplied, thus simplifying by a factor of 3 the complexity and probably the 3 D space required for the operation of that stocking section component feeding lines, and making big savings that way. To clarify this point and make full sense of it, would be inclined to specify in [ ] the implied purpose of that elec. component width modification. Why? because the latter (elec. component width(s)) is only the means to the end sought (supply line width(s) and stocking system size reduction as a whole). Don't agree? :-)
