Kachelofenwärme

German to English Tech/Engineering Furniture / Household Appliances
Hi everyone

This is the first time I post a question here. I was wondering if someone would know how to translate Kachelofenwärme into English.
Let me give you a little bit of context. The text I'm working on is about a state-of-the-art heating system. The sentence I'm having problems with reads:

"XXX Produkte erzeugen eine modern KACHELOFENWÄRME, die alle Festkörper im Raum erwärmt."

I looked up KACHELOFEN and I found tiled stove and masonry heater, but I'm just not sure if that's what I'm looking for.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

With Merry You need to get the cosiness across. Here, it is important to know which English variant you're looking for. In the US, the tile stove is a rarity, but EVERYONE can relate to a woodstove - Abraham Lincoln, Wood cabin, woodstove and all that jazz.

marketing literature If this is marketing literature, I think the translation of Kachelofen does not have to be literal; it just has to convey the feeling of a room warmed by one.

Explanation This term basically means that the heat is transferred by radiation (as opposed to convection or conduction).

There's nothing like it! Whether adobe or tiled, what is known as a 'Grundoven' in German.

neutral Yorkshireman : Most of the Kachelöfen in these parts were fired with lignite "Briketts", coke or coal.

We use wood as does everyone else nowadays, and the source text speaks of 'modern'. Coal is an ecological no-no! Besides, woodstove is a much more immediate image for English speakers.
