GP Translations (asker) Oct 21, 2014:
Hi guys, Thanks for your help. Sorry. I totally entered that wrong. The term I was having trouble with was "figurantes." I was wondering if there was any meaning that DIDN'T refer to people (as there were no people in the ad). Looks like there isn't. Apologies again for exceeding Kudos rules. Cheers.
Cecilia Gowar Oct 21, 2014:
@Jane I never implied you were! :-) I also read there are no people in the pix but the translator has to stick to the original... I suppose it is one of those cases where you are asked to give your opinion on an ad to be entered in a competition or something like that....
Jane Martin Oct 21, 2014:
@ cgowar I wasn't meaning to criticize. It's just that I was going to suggest 'The casual style and clothing of the people' and then read the question fully and realized there are no people in the advert. I agree with you that the person answering either doesn't know the advert referred to or is having fun.
Cecilia Gowar Oct 21, 2014:
The asker wants help with the syntax, not the individual words. Is that not allowed??
As for the answer, I believe the person completing the survey is just pulling their leg
Neil Ashby Oct 21, 2014:
Appears someone wants their job done for them.....
Carol Gullidge Oct 21, 2014:
@ asker Length exceeds kudoz rules, which doesn't help Glossaries! Which part of the text are you struggling with?
Jane Martin Oct 21, 2014:
@GP Translation Sounds as if this answerer is thinking of a different beer advert! What does appear in the advert?

The casualness conveyed by those in the picture through their style and outfits

That is how I'd say it.
