English term
to drive (an input of an IC, a transistor, an LED, etc.)
English to Russian
Tech/Engineering
Electronics / Elect Eng
Digital circuitry
To drive a typical LED, you need more than 1 volt.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You’ll need to add transistors to amplify their output if you want to drive bright LEDs or relays.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
logic chip is rated to deliver only 4mA at each pin. This is inadequate to drive a typical 5 mm LED
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
chip is barely powerful enough to drive the LEDs in our display when powered by 9 volts.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because all the LEDs are driven either directly from the 5-volt supply or from the output of the 555 timer, they don’t have to be low-current LEDs
==================================================================
I know there is a special Russian term for this, because a few years ago I was looking for the same translation. Unfortunately, I have forgotten it by now.
It is not "управлять", but more in the sense to provide enough current or voltage.

запитать
It is quite informal, but conveys a meaning. You can also use "снабдить энергией"

Note from asker:

To drive a typical LED, you need more than 1 volt.

Note from asker:
Извините, но лично мне кажется, что есть разница между просто powering an LED и driving an LED.
