English term

International Associate

English to Russian Law/Patents Human Resources CV, Résumé
A line from CV. A guy works at a law firm and deals with international disputes. It's unclear to me whether he is a partner, or a junior partner or just belongs to junior staff. It goes about US and the guy's practical experience is quite impressive.

I'm interested on what it comes to your mind when you hear 'International Associate' given the above.

Thx in advance!

Discussion

Evgeny Artemov (X) Jul 11, 2014:
It's a line in a CV Historically, he was an associate his current firm (and later might be promoted to partner) or somewhere else. But no, in this particular line, NOT a partner, of course.
Maksym Petrov Jul 10, 2014:
Associate is not a partner in any way, he may be a senior associate and have impressive experience but it doesn't make him a partner. Neither he belongs to the junior staff (like paralegals etc). He is just an attorney who has no share in the distribution of the law firm's income.

Senior Associate, Junior Associate).
