In a Worksheet for Calculating Additional Hospital Costs Incurred I have "forfait hotelier", meaning the costs for the hospital stay - any suggestions for a term that adequately describes it?
One suggestion was FIXED COST FOR HOSPITALITY but I am not sure whether this is the official term.
Thank you for your help!

As it is "forfait", it could be lump sum for room and board.

: I prefer "fixed cost for room and board" to "lump sum", with the proviso that "fixed" and "cost" are not separated by another term which can lead to ambiguity.

: It is best not to separate "fixed" and "cost" as it results in an ambiguous reading, that the hospital bed was repaired and the room paid for.

hospital package
Though this may be peculiar to private hospitals.

Nikki Scott-Despaigne
: Not specific to private hospitals as there is often a part of the cost in public hospitals which patients have to pay for too. "Package" doe not make it clear that this is apart from medical treatment and care.

Daryo
: it includes only those costs that would have been incurred in a hotel accommodation, not any medical care cost.

Daryo, thank you - this is an interesting contribution. My particular translation deals with costs arising in the context of clinical trials covered by the sponsor (including the "forfeit hospitalier"). |
