Me encontré esta frase en una descripción médica de España. El texto dice las "demandas al W.C." de los pacientes deben ser efectivas y consistentes. Imagino que quiere decir que cuando se desee ir al baño, se obtengan resultados... pero me cuesta trabajo traducirlo al inglés. Agradecería sugerencias, quiero asegurarme de no decir una barbaridad.

@Denise if you change "demandas al WC" for "uso del baño", i.e. use of the toilet, it would make sense.

Hi Lorena Yes, I am sure it is. It is a medical document about patients' progress. It lists some objectives for their patients, who seem to have been partially handicapped due to injuries or illness. It states that one of the objectives is to get patients to have consistent and effective "demandas al W.C." Other objectives are to be better able to perform tasks by themselves, like dressing up or taking a shower, etc. I would appreciate if you and other translators could let me know if the WC part makes sense or not, for it might just be a mistake in the Spanish original.

Yes, David I think you are right that "toilet" can cause offense in the US. But "toileting habits" is commonly used in healthcare / childcare in Britain.
Example sentence:
