Deutsch term

fettabweisend vs. fettdicht

Deutsch > Englisch Technik Materialien/Werkstoffe (Kunststoffe, Keramik usw.) Verpackung von Lebensmitteln Beutel
I need to distinguish between fettdicht (my idea: greaseproof) and fettabweisend. My ideas for fettabweisend are "grease-resistant" or "grease-repellent" but what is the better (and correct) term?

Your ideas are much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Have you tried Googling? Grease resistant gets 286,000 hits, and grease repellent gets 4,900. I don't think the latter is wrong, but the number of hits should probably clinch it if you're undecided. It's like waterproof and water-resistant watches.

impervious You could use "impervious to grease" for "fettabweisend" - actually means the same as greaseproof - just looks different:-)

resistant Imo "repellent" is more commonly used in (heavy) industry and not in food packaging. Also a repellent could be some kind of liquid/agent to make stuff grease resistant...
