Hello everyone
I'm having a problem with this word in the context of fabric testing, it's talking about measuring the length of sample pieces of fabric and it's in this sentence:
La mesure de la largueur est effectuée en trois mésures au minimum:
- la première à plus d'un mètre du chef
- la dernière à plus d'un mètre du liteau de queue
I'm guessing "chef" refers to a part of the sample such as the edge or the top or something but I'm not really sure which part, any ideas would be very welcome!
