Swedish term

barnmorskemottagningen

Swedish to English Medical Medical: Health Care
En enkät om: BB-vård, mödravård och barnmorskemottagningen.

In my experience, these are all "maternity care". The source text makes me thing that there are subtle differences.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This is fine. However I used a more current term "birthing center" which can involve either a midwife or regular doctor. It avoids the "new age" connotations of a midwife.."

birthing center = place where mothers give birth

I assume that "birthing center = healthcare facility where mothers give birth". Please note that a barmorskemottagning is not a place where women give birth. It is a clinic staffed by midwives that meet patients for various gynaecology issues such as pre/postnatal checkups, papsmears and prescription of contraceptives. A "barnmorskemottaging" is not specifically for maternity care. The section for maternity care is usually called "mödravårdcentral".

Please note, the term "midwife" has absolutely no "new age connotations" in Swedish in Sweden. They are specialist nurses working as an integrated part of the public health system.
