Glossary entry (derived from question below)
Polish term or phrase:
za węzłem
English translation:
after the substation; downstream
4 +1 | downstream | Polangmar |
4 | beyond the central heating plant distribution node | Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. |
3 | beyond the power center | Dawid Cieśla |

Jeśli ma być dosłownie, to "after the (distribution) station/unit/plant".
Ha! Dziękuję. A ja właśnie kombinowałam w drugą stronę czyli 'upstream'. |
beyond the power center
beyond the power center
beyond the central heating plant distribution node
I assume this is a central heating plant - a plant for generating heat from a central location.
If not, then use the appropriate name instead.

central heating plant, example,
The Central Heating Plant is a power station located at 325 13th Street, SW in the Southwest Federal Center neighborhood of Washington, D.C. which serves most of the United States federal government buildings near the National Mall.
Relocated from behind South Hall in 1964, the Central Heating Plant was designed to provide steam service to a growing campus community.

Will all heating be provided at the central heat plant or are heat addition NODES distributed along the heat loop envisioned?
SHDP is designed to estimate the total heat load to the heating plant with a breakdown of the distribution losses. This requires entering distribution line NODES, line diameters and lengths, CHP supply pressure, and individual building loads.

Thank you. I have a hard time imagining this, but I will try. I thought we were translating węzeł. It would be good to have the diagram of the distribution system. By the way, did you like "beyond the power center" of our friend Dawid Cieśla?

Discussion
Of course I cannot write "after the substation" because it sounds too artifical. I think that Polangmar's proposal is the best option here. I have seen "upstream" and "downstream" used in texts about hydro-electric power plants (context: za i przed elektrownią wodną). Both water and heat flow so I find this proposal justified.
