I suspect it's just another colloquial way to say "приспичит"
One way to translate: you only see a doctor when it's really urgent / if you really need to / when something goes wrong / etc.

: приспичит : E.g. We say," Pochemu tebe prispichilo zanimatsya etim seychas ?" Meaning you got it into your head to do it right now although it is not necessary. Pripeklo means roughly "you ve been cornered", the problem is outside the person's control.
