French term

notes de végétaux frais

French to English Marketing Wine / Oenology / Viticulture Champagne description
Avec une belle finesse en bouche ce Champagne montre des **notes de végétaux frais** , l'ensemble est élégant sur une belle longueur.

I have "hints of fresh greenery" but am unable to find any corroborative descriptions. Any other suggestions?

fresh vegetal notes

I've looked into this one before, and to my surprise, found that 'vegetal' is used quite a lot in EN too.

fresh vegetable notes/flavours

Notes in wine tasting are the flavours in the taste of the wine. Often they are fruity but can be vegetal.

The usual French word for vegetables is legumes but vegetaux also means vegetables.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : Not really, Alison: 'vegetal' simply means 'relating to plants (of all kinds)' (the vegetable kingdom), not specifically vegetables.
