balance sheet
At the bottom of a balance sheet, below the signature of the accountant and board of directors, there is a line item "Control do balanço" with the amounts 0,00 in each of the two columns (2011 and 2010. It seems to be outside the 'official' part of the balance sheet.
I've never come across this before - has anyone else? If so, do you have a suggested translation? I am thinking of "Reconciliation" but I'm far from sure.
Thanks to all who take the time to let me have their thoughts.

Note from asker:
Hi Teresa, I see you're only 50% confident about your answer - me too. I can see that "control" makes sense in PT but "check" would be more usual in EN. And that is basically what "reconciliation" means in accountancy. The trouble is that there is no calculation to guide us, just the line item "€0,00". In the absence of more information, it's anyone's guess. |

: I agree, this field verifies that the balance is settled. It really is just a control field.

Comment: "Teresa, I'm giving you 3 points because, while I'm not convinced, your answer could be a valid option if only we had more information. I'm not entering a glossary entry for the same reasons."
