Prócz miast tzw. królewskich przeprowadzano lokacje miast rycerskich oraz lokacje miast kościelnych. Miasta te rozmierzano w oparciu o szereg modeli. Najczęściej spotykanym w Małopolsce był model tzw. 9-polowy, w oparciu o który rozmierzono takie miasta jak np. Lanckorona, Lelów, Nowy Targ, Pilzno, Skawina, Ujście Solne. Inne modele to m.in. : turbinowy, oraz pseudoowalnicowy.

: Bez wyjaśnienia, co tak naprawdę znaczy przymiotnik "pseudoowalnicowy" w tym kontekście, nie ryzykowałbym zamiany go na "w przybliżeniu owalny" ("mniej więcej owalny" itp.).
