vini tourism
"Les vins de Bordeaux, tout un univers : 57 appellations pour environ 120 000 hectares de vignes…."
Sentence comes from a text on tourism in wine-growing areas.
I understand what they mean by 'tout un univers' but am struggling to find an appropriate translation into english. Maybe @a world in themselves'? This sounds odd to me though.
Any suggestions much appreciated!

: I'd go for "a world in its own right" as Kashew said, universe is stretching it

Schoonbeek
: I agree with the world bit but "of wine" should already be clear from the context.

a vast realm
To stress the size and nobility of the wines from Bordeaux

Yolanda Broad
: Wine is definitely at the realm level in Bordeaux (but try to find a decent selection of beer in a Bordeaux brasserie!!)
