My problem is that in my document it appears simply as given above, without the subject. The graduate has obtained the degree in Finance, with the specialty in Finance and Banking, but these are mentioned on the main degree document, while 'cunostinte fundamentale si de specialitate' are listed on the page for Degree examination results, in a table with the grades in the next column.
Should I just use 'Foundational and specialist knowledge of Finance & Banking' or 'Knowledge of the principles and specialist field of Finance and Banking'?
Clearly, left on its own as the Romanian has done, would not make any sense.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Fundamental and Specialty Knowledge
For US, at least ... I think.
Note from asker:
Thanks, but I was trying to avoid 'fundamental' as its not commonly used in the UK for this kind of thing. Let's see if anyone comes up with alternatives :-) |

general and special knowledge
Here, "fundamentale" refers to "general" (as opposed to "special"), the basic knowledge in general area pertaining to Finance.
