German term

kennt nur wenige Lastfälle

German to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering

From an article about concrete.

TIA.

uses only a few load cases [load scenarios]

See, for example, http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/transport_transp...

The term "load case" is also used in common standards/codes and structural design software packages, such as http://www.rib-software.com/index.php?id=675 (the "Detailed information" section says that "load cases can be given arbitrarily with different superposition and design attributes", among other items).

- BS 8110 allows for a simplified method for determining moments subject to certain provisions

1) design is based on a single load case of all spans being loaded with the maximum design ultimate load.
2) There are at least three rows of panels of approx equal span in the direction under consideration
4)The ratio of imposed to dead load does not exceed 1,25
5)The characteristic imposed load does not exceed 5kN/m2"

agree polyglot45 : load case is the correct term - perhaps .. in wall building, only a few load cases are involved - of course, you're right - I could no longer see the term so I just put anything

Thank you but would you really use "wall building" for "Mauerwerksbau"? I'd have thought of "masonry construction" or, with respect to the result/outcome of such work, "masonry buildings/structures".
agree dkfmmuc : Beeindruckte Zustimmung!

agree Raymond Peat : Masonry construction considers only a few load cases .... traditional craftsmen's knowledge... whereas the design of concrete components was developed based on engineering principles and high safety requirements (suggestion from a bridge design engineer)

Perfect! ("... and relies on traditional craftsmen's knowledge..."?)
agree Paul Skidmore : As formulated by Raymond
