German term
Feuerwehrzugang
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering

fire department access
Example from link below:
"Inspectors, trained by the State of New York’s Code Enforcement Office and working in concert with the Town of Niskayuna Building Department, address issues such as emergency exit access, electrical safety, fire extinguishing systems, and fire department access to buildings."

Fire department access is usually sufficient but there is a more narrow counterpart to the German term if that's what you're looking for:
"fire department entry points"
"Provide a supervised remote annunciator panel or FACP, which clearly indicates all conditions adjacent to fire department entry points."

: It is worth noting that this would not work for the UK, since they are known as the fire (and rescue) services, not the fire department, which to UK ears has a different connotation.

No problem. Whatever Eszter's preferences are..

: The asker did not specifically request UK English; if this is required, then 'fire brigade access' will do. The author does not speak generically of the emergency services; as translators it is surely our duty to be faithful to the source text.

My thoughts entirely, Tim. Unfortunately, I usually run out of steam in the discussion department because I tend to focus heavily on the solutions department :-)

emergency access route
access may also be required by other emergency services - in English the access is usually just referred to as emergency access and not for any one particular emergency service
