An especially common complaint, and perhaps even commoner joke,
associated with aging is the incidence of “senior moments”—those
quirky blips in the brain’s normal retrieval process. It may be suddenly
impossible to recall a name, a date, a phone number, an item on a
shopping list, the location of the car keys, or the car. Whether, or how
quickly, these symptoms of brain fog will worsen depends on many
factors, but the specters of senile dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are
very real.
