director authorised to represent the company

Geschäftsführer can also be managing director or CEO, but I don't think you could be either of those and not be authorised to represent your company, whereas a director might be (say) non-executive or not authorised to represent the company on their own.

managing director

Seems to me that this expression is a German idiosyncrasy and that the usual English rendering is just "managing director". Quite a few attempts have been made to translate this term on German corporate pages but they usually have a forced ring to them..

This one below has got it right, IMO..
