"Inheritance certificates are issued on request to testamentary and statutory heirs. They certify that the applicants are recognised as heirs, subject to their status being contested under the law on succession." http://www.ch.ch/private/00029/00037/00356/00369/index.html?...
Sau ar mai fi (in Germania): Certificate of Heirship

1. The applicant has to provide all information necessary in advance, to enable the German Missions to draft a formal application. Therefore, please use the prepared questionnaire. We recommend that you enclose copies of all documents proving the right to inherit (e. g. last will, letters testamentary, death certificates, birth certificates, marriage certificates etc.)

Alice Lazar (asker) Nov 4, 2012:

succession certificate

the difference between "certificatul de calitate de mostenitor" and "certificatul de mostenitor" is not very clear to me, you will have to look it up in RO law. It would seem logical to suppose that the former only validates the fact that a person is a heir or legatee, while the latter specifies his/her share or is otherwise more specific. I am not sure there is such a difference in British or American law, I would get around it by "general" and "specific" s.c.
