प्रविष्ट पाठ्य
प्रविष्ट पाठ्य sounds better !it is commonly used in economics for entries !

दर्ज किया गया
This is sometimes used in user interface phrases. It means text entered.
It cannot be पाठ्य because that would be the adjective form. For eg, सुपाठ्य means 'that which is easy to read' or अपाठ्य means 'that which is unreadable'.
पाठ is the noun form which is what you need - दर्ज किया गया पाठ

पाठ has two meanings:
1. Lesson
2. Text
This is quite common in all languages. The same word can have many different meanings; which meaning is intended become clear from the context.
For eg, take "fly" of English - it could mean मक्खी or उड़ना or ज़िप. The intended meaning become clear from the context.

Balasubramaniam ji please excuse my ignorance, but in hindi class one would read a chapter and say i read the पाठ, one refers to the text or to the chapter? this is where my confusion arises from also where 'text' is a standalone word what would be your choice? |
infact the problem is the complete lack of context, in the sense the words are stand-alone text for a website thanks for the clarification |

सन्निविष्ट पाठ
I think this is a rather precise but very formal translation of 'inserted text'. Seems better than 'अंतर्विष्ट पाठ' or 'प्रविष्ट पाठ'.
