German term

Überfahrt

German to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Lifts
In a sales brochure for small-scale lifts that can be installed in a house or very small block of flats:

Mit einer Unterfahrt von nur zwölf Zentimetern und ohne Überfahrt ist dieser Sonderaufzug ohne grössere Umbauarbeiten in ein bestehendes Gebäude einzubauen.

The Überfahrt is the space normally needed (but not here!) at the top of the lift shaft. Can anyone help with the proper term please?

Many thanks.

overhead space requirement

(I do not think Überfahrt means "overshoot" here.)

With a bottom space requirement of only 12 cm and zero overhead space requirement, this special lift can be installed in an existing building without extensive building modification work.
