French term

cartons standards et détails

Non-PRO French to English Marketing Transport / Transportation / Shipping packaging
This document is a pharmaceutical distribution contract (for a depositaire). I think this phrase refers to "cartons standard et cartons details" as opposed to "details" being a separate entity, but i can't be sure.

Les cartons standards et détails feront l’objet d’un marquage approprié pour leur distribution. Tous les cartons standards et détails seront automatiquement soumis à un contrôle de poids (Poids brut), afin d’exclure toute erreur éventuelle.

The only description i've found on line of these two concepts refers to a "carton standard" as containing all the same type of item, and a "carton detail" containing a mixture of products. But this was just a single reference and i haven't been able to back it up with anything.

The document contains one other instance of "detail": descriptif de la prestation: préparation des commandes (picking et fourniture colis détail + calage des boîtes d’ampoules)

Thanks in advance.
Change log

Jun 15, 2012 20:43: SJLD changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): cc in nyc, philgoddard, SJLD

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Jun 16, 2012:
Capitals Hello there. Just a quick note about the capital letter on "I" which seems to be going out of fashion. It is so important for your clients to remain confident in your linguistic ability. Being merely human, the odd typo might not make them think twice, but not capitalizing the "I" might get them worried!

agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : Sounds logical. Probably best for the asker to check with the client though. It is possible for a standard box to be for retail also.

Standard cartons and details

Imho
Peer comment(s):

disagree Colin Rowe : How are the "details" going to be "automatiquement soumis à un contrôle de poids"?
