German to English Marketing Electronics / Elect Eng
"Ihre Weiche zum Erfolg". This seems to be a marketing logo. Please help me translate making the similar sense in english. Would be great if somebody can help me giving an exmple. Thanks

Nicole Schnell Jun 12, 2012:
Question for Shilpa Mathur You probably mentioned Electrical Engineering for a reason, and "Weiche" is a tech term in electronics that describes an audio crossover catering to different frequency bands. So there might be a play on words involved. Can you confirm that?
philgoddard Jun 12, 2012:
It only gets two Google hits and one is a company that makes railway points.
Kim Metzger Jun 12, 2012:
Just wondering why your specific field is electronics/electrical engineering.
Shilpa Mathur (asker) Jun 12, 2012:
This is a marketing slogan for an Engineering company.
Kim Metzger Jun 12, 2012:
Is this a marketing slogan for an electronics company?

Weiche = points on a railway line but here anything with road/path etc is ok IMO

how about "pointer to success"?

this is tricky to translate and keep the meaning in German but I can assure you that "Weiche" = "points" on a railway track so let's see if we can get some good ideas

how about "the (right) road to success"?

or:"the right track to success" (to keep the railway imagery)

I'm sure someone will come up with something worthy of an advertising slogan but that's the gist

I think "the right road etc." is ok and gets the meaning over

thinking about it more .. "path" seems more appropriate (more poetic and certainly would work in an advertizing context) but up to you of course ...

I think "your road to success" is a better option. Lets see if we get some more ideas. Thanks

agree philgoddard : It looks like it's a railway company, so "on track for success" would be a good choice.

Your gateway to sucess

I think this might work as it opens up the way, as changing the points on a railway line can. It is also a common English idiom.
