omets lev

I don't know about God-given, but this is the "good" kind of courage, as opposed to chutzpah, according to the following article by Merom Klein.
Peer comment(s):

agree Pnina : Omets-lev means being brave and acting according to one's convictions.

Ometz or Oz

Hi Tana,
Courage is ometz or Oz in Hebrew.

ometz=alef vav mem tzadik sofit אומץ
Oz= ayin vav zayin עוז

Good luck!
Peer comment(s):

agree David Swidler : I prefer Ometz. 'Oz has connotations of strenght that may not be appropriate in context. Oh, and the letter is "tzadi", not "tzadik".
