溶解番号座
Japanese to English

I can guess 溶解番号 refers to (ref) No. of melting for reference, but I can figure out why they use the word 座at the end of 溶解番号.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance.

heat number
I believe 溶解番号 should be heat number, an identification number. I am unsure about 座 - can you provide some surrounding context?

Without seeing the chart, my guess would be that it is referring to the dimensions allowed for the heat number cast or stamp. For example, see http://www.associatedvalve.com/download/jenkins/jen-10005.pd... Here it would be the dimensions of the box containing the heat number. In your case, this may be on a metal strip or pad that is fused to the body, so perhaps "heat number pad" or something to that effect. Just a guess, though.

Note from asker:
Well, this is a guiline on inspection of stainless valves (as-casts). The whole context here is as follows: 付表-8 溶解番号座の寸法及び許容差 フランジ形ボールバルブ 10UTB15A~25A,20UTB15A~20A,150UTB1/2B~1B,300UTB1/2B~3/4B のボデーに 適用し、各部の寸法及び許容差は、下表による。 |
Regarding 溶解番号, it is explained in the following pdf document: www.jara-al.or.jp/pdf/JISH2118.pdf |
OK, your explanation is perfect, but I still have problem with 座 |
perhaps my wild guess is a really wild one, because the heat number is marked on valve body, not valve seat. Therefore, the word 座 here may refer to the place where heat number is marked - another wild guess, too. |

heat number marking
This is the solution for 座.
The heat number should be indicated somewhere on the valve and normally by engraving. (See following URL).
I think 座 in this context means space for marking. “Heat Number Marking Size” could be your solution.
Please note that as far as 溶解番号 concerns Nathan is correct, as you can also find in the referred website. Please take this into account for grading.

: In this case, 座 conveys both the location and the area where this information must be displayed.
