Swedish term
prestigelöshet
Swedish to English
Marketing
Here's the context:
Precis som tidigare i kedjan krävs nu god överblick, prestigelöshet och fantasi i planeringen.
"Lack of prestige" would not make any sense in English here, since prestige is usually considered to be something positive in business English. Suggestions?

"Humility. More than just niceness, humility reveals that the leader understands that no one person can create a great organization."

I got it! Sobriety! Or how about one of the cardinal virtues: temperance? Other words that come to mind: meekness and modesty. Actually any of these would sound just as quaint as presigelöshet.

openness to the suggestions of others and lack of undue pride
Well, hopefully this can be of help to formulate something more brief and striking.
Perhaps just "openness to ideas" would be better.

: This is just in answer to the comment that "humility" in business is not at linked to "vision": please, do a search with the relevant terms.

I was thinking of backing Jonathan's suggestion, but perhaps 'low profile' in this case might give the wrong impression.

: I think this gets over the implications in the best way. Glamour is excluded, whilst admiration/respect are not.

: it has nothing to do with lack of glamour or presence of admiration; it has to do with qualities, which are likely to be of a great value in business leadership and which is linked to vision.

I agree to that "it has nothing to do with lack of glamour or presence of admiration", but disagree with the rest of your comment.

: This is indeed the best way to put it (low profile excluded), and it is indeed implicit in answer, very implicit.

impartiality, disinterest, self-effacement, customer-oriented
Just some suggestions.
I think the meaning here is that the (project?) planning requires a broad (holistic?) overview, impartiality and imagination.
In more detail, 'prestigelöshet' to me implies that the planner is entirely focused on the project, regardless of possible personal benefits (promotion, bonuses, prestige). In a word, self-effacement, but that sounds a bit too saintly and other-worldly for this sort of business environment.
'Disinterest' would do nicely, except that too many people think it means 'lack of interest', when it really means 'no interest either way - exactly my reading of prestigelöshet.
Other more remote possibilities are 'win-win' (both sides win) or a phrase using 'customer-oriented'.

I agree with you that 'humility' is what is meant, but you could never use that word in a business context - not assertive enough!

: This is the case with Jim Collins’ recent study called “Level 5 Leadership ” (Harvard Business Review, January 2001). Collins maintains that the Level 5 leader who blends “extreme personal humility with intense personal will ” is the type who best succeed

You're right, that is a very good definition. I've come across a few in my time, but far more with the inverse charateristics.

dedication
Complete loyalty to some person or purpose. Self-effacement included. A typical English expression, so I am not surprised they had to settle for prestigelöshet here. "Perspective, dedication and imagination." It is starting sound more and more like one of those ProZ slogans.
