English term

OCTAHY - DROPYRROLO[3,4-c]PYRROLES

Not for points English Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng Chemical
This is a patent title: DISUBSTITUTED OCTAHY - DROPYRROLO[3,4-c]PYRROLES AS **Hormone name** RECEPTOR MODULATORS

- I am translating one patent from En > Ar, I would like to know about your experience in such a case.

- Some compounds such as those ones stated below have no Arabic translation, we always just transliterate them and really this makes no sense since it is just a transliteration:

* OCTAHY - DROPYRROLO[3,4-c]PYRROLES
* 1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl, 2H-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl, 1H-pyrazol-5-yl, 3-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl, pyridinyl, 3-methyl-pyridin-2-yl

The client have no preference as soon as it's not required for the meaning ..

Hence, I would like to discuss this issue with other colleagues who works in the field of chemical patents..

Do you usually transliterate such long compounds into your native language or just to leave them in English?

Sorry if this is not the proper place for discussing this issue, but I believe that I may get more quick responses if I posted my inquiry here.

TIA

Jörgen Slet Apr 29, 2012:
Typo in title The title compounds should be OCTAHYDROPYRROLO[3,4-c]PYRROLES
Edith Kelly Apr 28, 2012:
Fathy I think that this is not a translation question, you should post this in a forum e.g. an Arabic language forum.
