English term

He lead Neal home for a Honda 1-2.

English to French Other Journalism
context (car race)
Victory in the first race went to Mat Jackson, who became the fourth winner in as many races in his Ford Focus. Taking the lead after a clash of cars at the chicane, Jackson beat Honda pair Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal to the line, although they managed to go one better in race two when Shedden lead Neal home for a Honda 1-2.

Discussion

Tony M Apr 21, 2012:
Typo It should of course have been 'led', i.e. the past tense of 'to lead' — a common-enough error even among native speakers since 'lead' (the metal) is pronounced the same as 'led' (past tense of 'lead').
