Testimonianza di tale orientamento fu il progetto, sviluppato dal CDM tra il ‘75 e il ‘77, di riorganizzazione della filiera produttiva delle fibre polipropileniche Meraklon della Montefibre. Tali fibre, usate prevalentemente nel settore della pavimentazione tessile **agotrattata** e nei rivestimenti murali, presentavano il limite di non poter essere colorate con i normali processi tintoriali ma dovevano essere tinte in massa, cioè prodotte impiegando polimeri già colorati.
