Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jun 17, 2003:
maaf Sorry, this is a terrible question. The phrases "harian tunggal" and "harian ganda" occur in a tidal chart. I think they mean "diurnal" and "daily," but am not entirely sure.

Hi Mark, could you please give us more information on the context? Is it a medical dose? (Once daily and twice daily)?

see explanation

harian tunggal = diurnal, as in diurnal tide.
harian ganda = semidiurnal, as in semidiurnal tide.

I suppose this appears in a text about tide.

sorry Mark, didn\'t see your added note. since they occur in a tidal chart (or tide table, I suppose), \'harian tunggal\' definitely refers to \'diurnal tide\', and \'harian ganda\' to \'semidiurnal tide\'.
