Explication Arc tracking is defined as a phenomenon in which a conductive path is formed across an insulating surface. The carbon path provides a short circuit path through which current can flow (e.g., electrical arcing.). In this case, the peninsula slots "act" like an Arc tracking fuse because they "burn open" when the electrical arcing occurs. An "Arc Protection" fuse is actually a fuse used to prevent arcing. There is no fuse used on the PCB...the peninsula slots "act" like a fuse. .
