Greek term

πατρότητα

Greek to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
... ως μοναδικού και αποκλειστικού δικαιούχου στην άσκηση του ηθικού δικαιώματος της αναγνωρίσεως της πατρότητας των έργων του **** (όνομα ζωγράφου).

Το "authorship" δεν μου κάνει καθώς δεν πρόκειται για γραπτά έργα. Ευχαριστώ!

Dave Bindon Sep 10, 2011:
French According to Triantafyllidis, this meaning of πατρότητα comes from the French 'paternité'. I've seen this meaning of 'paternité' translated as 'attribution' in English, hence my suggestion.

Kyriacos Georghiou Sep 8, 2011:
How about "origin" ... paternity doesn't sound too good
Dora Evagelinaki (asker) Sep 8, 2011:
Paternity? Μάλλον είναι paternity. Δεν σκέφτηκα καθόλου το προφανές.

creation

For a work of art, I believe that creation is a better fit.
Example sentence:

The creation of the painting discovered in the attic was under question.
