Hi there,
I'm translating a magazine article about a restaurant, and in the text the wine cellar, well the wine selection is in a sort of glass case, the French text says:

"Enfin, pour parfaire votre dîner, vous pourrez goûter à l’un des 500 crus du lieu, tous exposés dans un écrin flottant tout à fait surprenant, sis au cœur du restaurant"

Is this like "parquet flottant" two-layer or something like that?

@Lara Nothing so obvious, the origins of the term "milk float" are lost in the mists of time according to the (obsessively?) knowledgeable author of http://www.milkfloats.org.uk/faq.html. Personally, I favour the idea that it was because being nearly silent made them seem to float along the street.

floating I immediately thought of milk "float" which is obviously named due to its mobility caused by wheels. Is this definitely a hanging wine rack or could it be on a sort of trolley? FOr example a "wine float"?
