Se trata del recuerdo publicitario, después de exposición en distintos medios. Tengo curiosidad por ver como se puede traducir "victoriosa" en este forzado original (y tipo slogan):
"Centros Comerciales ocupa claramente el segundo lugar después de la victoriosa TV"
De momento lo traduzco saltándome la palabra "victoriosa" porque no sé como quedaría que sonara más natural que en el original:
"Shopping centers clearly take second place to television effectiveness "

Hum, very arrogant. You are not being constructive in the sense you are not providing with a better alternative to my translation. According to you the problem here is the confusion between "come" and "go". Would you then say "come second to"? Is that it?

Me parece que se trata de recalcar la importancia de los shoppings/centros comerciales y no de la televisión, de ahí mi sugerencia de usar el giro de 'second only to'... Por la misma razón, la linda frase 'all-conquering' me parece desmedida en este contexto, por lo que saca el énfasis de los centros comerciales y se lo concede a la televisión.
