Hello. This is from a magazine article about a "measured mile" system for measuring ship speed, using two objects marked on a nautical map (Spain).
"Debido a la configuración especial de la costa, no existe una enfilación de rumbo de corrida, por la que éste ha de llevarse con la aguja."

so
my understanding is that there is no actual navigational course plotted on the map, due to the shape of the coastline, so you need to use a compass to guide your boat/yacht/whatever.
