Pode ser que seja só para mim, mas o significado é meio dúbio, considerando a frase inicial (se for o mesmo personagem que falou as duas frases), pois "matar a pau" pode dar tanto a ideia de "acertar na mosca", como "acabar com algo/alguém", e aí nesse caso eu diria "You're killing me here", ou algo do gênero
