pronounced as husband and wife in a marriage service held

[Name] and [Name] were pronounced as husband and wife in a marriage service held in the Abdijkerk of the Dutch Reformed Church The Hague on [date].

Pronouncement

The pronouncement consists of an official proclamation that the bride and groom are now husband and wife. To this is often added a statement of the authority which grants the minister to make such a proclamation, be it civil and/or religious authority. A traditional part is also the addition of the scripture "Whom God has joined together, let no man (one) put asunder." This last phrase is a polite "warning" that no one should try to come between this husband and wife.

Forasmuch as ________ and ________ have pledged to each other their fidelity and love in the sight of God and this company, I therefore by virtue of the authority vested in me as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, pronounce them to be husband and wife, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Whom therefore God hath joined together let not man put asunder.

Benediction

A benediction brings the worship service to an end. It is another blessing -- the wish of the congregation through the pastor, that God will give you joy, peace and the blessing of His presence. Even though it is, in a way, the wish of the pastor and congregation, you may want to select or write a blessing that you will feel good about.

A. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up the light of his countinence upon you, and give you peace

of: "consecrated" is een betere vertaling voor ingezegend
Example sentence:

"Some who attend the course choose to be confirmed afterwards. ‘Confirmation’ is when a person makes an adult commitment to the Christian faith, following a period of exploration and study, and is confirmed and blessed by a Bishop."

The marriage of ... was solemnized

As Kitty says, I don't think you can say "confirmed" because that could imply that their baptism is being confirmed. Bevestigd is just another way of saying "ingezegend", which means "solemnized". Anyway, this is how we would say it in English.

joined in marriage, joined in matrimony

Jack and Jill were joined in matrimony...
Peer comment(s):

agree Tina Vonhof (X) : Simple. Bevestigd en Ingezegend are Dutch terms that would not be used in English. The name of the church already indicates that it was a religious ceremony.
